More About

Less Is More

Released on 5 October 2009, Less Is More is a collection of acoustic and semi-acoustic reworkings of songs drawn primarily from the Hogarth era, alongside new arrangements of older material. Produced by Dave Meegan and released through Racket Records, the album was another fan-funded project.

The premise is elegantly simple: what happens to these songs when you remove the production and leave only the essential melody, voice, and chord? The experiment is largely successful. Tracks originally heard in lush, layered arrangements reveal considerable inner strength when stripped back, confirming that the band’s songwriting is robust enough to survive radical recontextualisation.
