More About

Live in Plovdiv

Recorded on 11 October 2013 at the International Guitar Festival in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, this album captures the inaugural performance of the Steve Rothery Band. The ensemble features Steve Rothery (guitar), Dave Foster (guitar), Leon Parr (drums), and Yatim Halimi (bass guitar).

The tracklist focuses on extended instrumental compositions, including several pieces that would later form the basis of the studio album The Ghosts of Pripyat. These include “Morpheus” (10:40), “Old Man of the Sea” (13:14), and “Summer’s End” (15:06). Additionally, the performance includes dedicated instrumental solo sections from notable Marillion tracks, specifically “This Strange Engine,” “Sugar Mice,” and “Easter.”

The project was supported by a successful Kickstarter campaign for the subsequent studio recordings and was officially released on 25 November 2013.
